Occupational Therapy |
| |
| Life has its rough spots. Some of us have more than our fair share. Whether you're facing a temporary disability or lifelong impairment, TERRIO's occupational therapist (OT's) are here to help. We have programs for special needs children (TerrioKIDS), adolescents, and adults, and the finest staff anywhere. Occupational Therapy will give you the daily living skills you need to cope with a chronic condition or injury. |

What exactly is Occupational Therapy?
The confusion comes from the word “Occupation” which is naturally associated with “job” or “employment”. Occupational Therapy (OT) is the use of productive, creative activity by trained professionals to promote recovery or rehabilitation. Our purpose is to help you develop “skills for the job of living” needed for independent, satisfying lives.
Who will benefit from OT and how?
Babies and toddlers can learn such basic skills as turning over, crawling, eating and successful interaction with family. Adolescents can improve coordination, strength and fine motor movements, as well as skills needed at school and home, like writing and playing. For adults working at a job and taking care of home, OT can improve their daily living skills and working environments. And for older individuals, OT provides techniques promoting independence and productive living. |
